Request your Eightfold applicant data from the employer you applied to first when Eightfold processed it on that employer’s behalf. Use Eightfold’s own privacy webform for data it controls independently, or to ask it to clarify its role. Eightfold’s privacy notice, updated May 2026, distinguishes these responsibilities.

Choose which records you want; the tool identifies where to send your request.

Find Your Request Route

Start With the Employer

Use the employer’s privacy-request channel for application records and Eightfold outputs processed on its behalf.

Eightfold says it refers access requests for customer-held data to the relevant customer.

Your enforceable rights depend on the applicable law. This is practical information, not legal advice.

Identify the Organization Responsible for Your Records

Find the privacy notice on the employer’s application portal and its privacy-request contact. Keep the application confirmation, job ID, application dates, email address used and any reference to Eightfold. If you applied through a recruiting intermediary, check its notice too.

Eightfold says that when it processes customer-held data, it cannot respond directly to access requests and will refer them to the relevant customer. That makes the employer’s privacy-request channel the starting point for your application, screening records and Eightfold outputs held on its behalf.

Eightfold also describes personal data it controls itself, including certain public-source information used to improve and provide its services. Use its privacy-request channel for that data, or for records from an application to work at Eightfold itself. Source: Eightfold privacy notice.

If its role is unclear, ask the employer to confirm whether Eightfold processed your application data. Separately ask Eightfold what data it controls about you. Give each request a clear scope rather than assuming either organization can disclose everything.

Request Stored Screening Outputs, Not Just Your Résumé

Ask for the underlying information and any stored outputs about you. Specify these categories:

  • Your submitted résumé, application answers and parsed employment, education and skills fields.
  • Information obtained from outside sources, with its source and collection date where held.
  • Inferred skills, profile attributes, match scores, rankings, recommendations and screening flags, if generated or retained.
  • The job ID and date associated with each output.
  • Records of how those outputs were used in your application, including relevant recruiter notes or status changes about you.
  • Processing purposes, recipients and retention periods or criteria.

Eightfold’s notice says it processes customer-provided and candidate-uploaded information and may obtain professional information from sources such as LinkedIn, Stack Overflow and GitHub when instructed by customers. That does not establish which sources were used for you; request your actual records. Source: Eightfold privacy notice.

These categories define your request, not a guarantee that every item exists or must be disclosed. Ask for scores by job and date rather than assuming there is one universal applicant score.

Send a Specific Access Request

For Eightfold-controlled data, use the official Eightfold Privacy Webform. It asks for identifying and residence information, offers a “Job Applicant” category and permits supporting attachments. If you cannot enter the full scope, attach a document containing it.

Adapt this text for the employer or Eightfold:

Subject: Applicant personal-data access request

I request access to and a copy of the personal data you hold about me in connection with recruitment, including data processed using Eightfold.

My name is [name]. I applied using [email address] to [employer, role and job ID] on or around [dates]. I reside in [country and state, if applicable].

Please include my submitted and parsed application data; externally obtained information and its sources; and any stored inferences, scores, rankings, recommendations or screening flags about me, identifying the relevant job and date. Please also include records showing how these outputs were used, and information about purposes, recipients and retention.

If you are Eightfold, please distinguish data you control from data processed only for an employer. If another organization must handle part of this request, please identify it.

Please explain any withheld categories and the applicable reason. Let me know what proportionate identity verification is needed and how to complete it securely.

Replace the bracketed details before sending. Save the submitted text and confirmation.

Do not send a passport or Social Security number unsolicited. Eightfold’s California verification section says it may ask for additional information such as your name, email, phone number and relationship to the company. Track the Deadline That Applies to Your Request

California Requests Covered by the CCPA

Businesses must respond to a request to know within 45 calendar days; they may extend by another 45 days if they notify you. Employment-data exemptions expired December 31, 2022, but coverage and other exceptions still matter. The responsible business—not merely its service provider—handles the request. UK Subject Access Requests

Organizations normally have one month to respond. If necessary identity verification is requested, the clock starts once they have what they need from you; clarification can pause it.

Complex or multiple requests can justify up to two additional months, but the organization must notify you within the initial month and explain why. The ICO flags this guidance as under review following the Data (Use and Access) Act, so check it when following up. Source: ICO guidance on what to expect after a request.

Follow Up on Missing Records and Incorrect Data

If the response contains only your résumé, ask explicitly whether stored inferences and screening outputs were searched for, do not exist, or were withheld. A response that omits those categories does not tell you which explanation applies.

If you find an error, identify the exact field, provide evidence and request correction. Request access before deletion if your immediate aim is to inspect what happened.

Eightfold lists privacy@eightfold.ai for questions, complaints and appeals where applicable. It directs rights requests to the webform and also offers the California phone route above. Source: Eightfold’s contact and rights sections.

An access request is not automatically a right to source code, another candidate’s records or reconsideration. The Guardian’s August 19, 2026 report describes allegations challenging undisclosed applicant rankings; Eightfold denies them. Those allegations do not establish an entitlement to a particular report. For that separate issue, see whether an AI résumé score counts as a background check.
